In the Boudoir...

Oh hello there, you sexy minx. Here you will find all that you would need to transform your room into the hottest lair - either to tempt a special someone or just to indulge yourself with a daily dose of pin-up goodness.

Start with an uncluttered space. We need to create a cohesive design style with a mature look so all of those pics of you and your friends at spring break 5 years ago on the wall with scotch tape need to go. (at least for now)

Once you have taken all of your wall art down and put it aside, let's tackle your bed. Even if you don't have a great bed frame, you can base your sexy space on new bed linens.

By far the best place that I have found for unique, edgy, retro bedding is Sin In Linen. Here you can buy matching bedding and bath sets featuring pin-up girls, vintage tattoos, leopard, flames, or even skulls. Great for bad girls with more of a rocker edge. (but remember, pick one theme and stick with it. Or use one of these bold prints to jazz up something plain)

If you want to go for straight-up sensual, then satin sheets are a must!  I found some amazing ones on Amazon (ChezMoi) for only $19.99 that are even deep-pocketed for those of you who have pillow-top mattresses. Jewel tones like red, purple and sapphire are best teamed up with black for a fool proof way to get glam in the bedroom. Now top that smoothness off with some velvet or damask. Again the ChezMoi Collection on Amazon is really affordable and there are some good "bed-in-a-bag" finds.
This Zebra bed set from Touch of Class is a terrific hybrid of classy and raunchy. Good quality with black and white zebra print.

Now for the walls: Don't want to paint your walls? Try some of these Wall Decals like the lips, chandelier or fancy frame. They even have Swarovski crystal elements that you can jazz your wall up with and they still come off easily without wall damage.  Now look at all that wall art you took down. Prom photos? Random momentos? Save them for the scrap book. Keep wall art minimal and try to make them classier just by framing your favorite pics and posters before hanging them.  If you want a new focal point, places like Target have great mirrors and pictures that go with a boudoir theme (Pics of Monroe, Paris, even shoes are safe bets). Also pick up some cheap black sheer drapes too while you are there because they are a lot hotter than those white blinds that came with the apartment.

Now that we have the bed linens picked out and chose a design scheme/color palette, it's time for the room decor accessories to complete your look.
Lighting - Grab a cheap crystal pendant chandelier from Target, Urban Outfitters or even Home Depot (pendants just plug in to a socket and don't need to be wired in the walls). An even easier way to liven things up is to get some sassy lampshades with maybe some fringe trim.
Nightstands/other furniture: I suggest at least painting your furniture black lacquer if you don't feel like hitting the flea markets for old Victorian or French/Rococo looking accent tables. If you want some new furniture or an affordable rug check out Home Decorators Catalog. My favorite is the Mirrored Dresser
The Little extras: Get some luscious scented candles to put around your room or decorative vintage-looking votives. I love candles! You can find cool ones all over the place, even one that turns into massage oil by Booty Parlor. Little nick-nacks like old perfume bottles, hand mirrors and a mirrored tray can transform your dresser top into Old Hollywood-style vanity. I love Anna Sui and Benefit for boudoir-worthy makeup packaging.
Personal effects: Now that your space is sure to turn on anyone and make you feel like the sexy queen you are, it's time to get a few treats for yourself like lingerie, bath salts, heeled slippers, etc. Check out the Links page and shop my favorite Lingerie places for silky kimonos, nightgowns, fishnets or whatever tickles your fancy.

Now your space if officially pimped out and ready for action. Go get 'em vixens! Oh and remember to pick up some protection to always keep in your night stand, you'll need it. ;)
